Okay, I probably love this book because I love these characters, and this is really a sword and sorcery romp with added angst and quips. Swashes are buckled extensively. The sight of Tony Stark stark naked (sorry) tied to a slab altar surrounded by trolls and a dragon and trying to talk his way out at top speed is something to treasure, and the ending takes me all the way back to the very early Avengers. It is also beautifully pencilled by Alan Davis.

Tony Stark, naked, riding a horse. That's all anyone needs to know about this novel. I could go on, but it would be meaningless, because nothing tops a man who possesses nuts hard enough to go horse riding without a pair of pants.

There's other stuff too, like Amora doing Loki justice as the super-nutbag of the story and some rather happy-making Tony/Steve re-bonding and becoming BFFs again. There's also poor Thor who has so much to deal with post broken-home (on every level possible). While reading this, I definitely thought 'oh, Thor, I hath hugs for thee, so many hugs'.

It was a very entertaining read with good artwork and snappy dialogue, but it was also a book about how awesomely entertaining Tony Stark is. And he is. With or without clothes.
