Description

Boris Barnet and S. Mardanin direct this 1930s Soviet Union comedy drama.

Shipwrecked on an inhabited Caspian Sea island, friends Aliosha (Nikolai Kryuchkov) and Yussuf (Lev Sverdlin), a mechanic and a sailor, go to work on a collective farm where they both fall for the lovely administrator Masha (Yelena Kuzmina).

As they fight for her affections, their work and the community suffer.
