Not a bad set of stories, quick tasters for several series. Not Just a Seduction is part of Carole Mortimer's A Season of Secrets series. A widowed woman finds her former beau. Her secrets are complicated. He has a lot of distrust and anger to deal with.An Officer but No Gentleman by Bronwyn Scott is from her Rakes who make Husbands jealous series. Elowyn Bagshaw's father engages Captain Grahame Westmore to escort her to Vienna, they find themselves attracted and they both want more but can they overcome their disparity in statuses. One Night with the Highlander by Ann Lethbridge is part of her Gilvrys of Dunross series. Another widow finding love again with a former beau. Her husband has died and left her destitute because his family doubt the story of his death. Running into temptation by Amanda McCabe is part of her Bancrofts of Barton Park series and it felt like it should have been a longer story, I didn't really get a sense of a building romance, it felt rushed. Melanie Harding is exiled to the country to avoid more scandal she finds romance with Philip CarringtonHow to Seduce a Sheikh by Marguerite Kaye features a French woman and a desert prince Zafar who buys her and frees her to let her home. She's widowed and looking for more experiences of life, but can they part when it's time? Not a bad set of stories, nothing really stood out too much but it was all interesting and kept me reading. Though the stories, while they were historical fiction they didn't seem rooted in any period just a generic historical time.
