I must point out that I am personally opposed to the concept of universal reincarnation such as used in Buddhism and the new age religions. All that I was trying to gain through reading The World of Tibetan Buddhism by the Dalai Lama is an understanding of that religion and a basis for seeing haw the ways of Buddhist thought and practice can enrich this world. Coming from my own beliefs, the most radical, yet most moving beliefs are those on page 16. The rest is commentary. Useful commentary. Yet my review stands on that quotation. “I sometimes remark that all Buddhist thought and practice can be condensed into the following two principles: (1) adopting a world view that perceives the interdependent nature of phenomena, that is, the dependently originated nature of all things and events, and (2) based on that, leading a non-violent and non-harming way of life.”More later.
