Pawel Pawlikowski directs this award-winning Polish drama set in a convent in the 1960s.

When Anna (Agata Trzebuchowska), an orphan who was brought up by the nuns of the convent, decides she wants to take her vows, she is told that first she must visit her only living relative, Wanda (Agata Kulesza).
