Description

When Judith Summers's husband and father both died within the space of two weeks, she found herself floundering.

Life for her and her eight-year-old son Joshua seemed relentlessly bleak.

And when a near-death tangle with a Staffordshire Bull terrier resulted in costly sessions with an animal psychologist, Judith found that it was she who was put on the couch ...

I was disappointed in this book in that the content was not as portrayed by the title. I expected more of a canine focus...like in MARLEY AND ME or MERL'S DOG. Instead the author seemed to incorporate her personal memoirs and loss and new life into the acquisition of George, her Cavalier St. Charles spaniel.

Definitely should be on the list of 1001 books NOT read before you die. It is a whimsical tale for animal enthusiasts only - and the sort of of animal lover who likes to dress them up in fancy dress and feed the Thornton's chocolate.
