Late Night at the Zoo Hardback
Illustrated by John Joven
Part of the Usborne Very First Reading series
The tenth title in the new "Usborne Very First Reading" series, designed for younger children to introduce them to reading together with their parents.
Parents and children take turns to read from the page (the text clearly marked for who should be reading) and as the books progress in the series the adults read less and less and the child more and more.
There are puzzles at the end to check the child's understanding of the text and guidance notes for the parents.
Beautiful illustrations help to motivate beginner readers.

The zoo has closed for the day and the animals are ready for some fun. The snakes want to play a game, the pandas want to go for a ride, and the baboons have a flying trapeze. When it’s late at the zoo the animals play, they can sleep all day. The playful story features imaginative, dreamlike art in nighttime appropriate shades. This book is the tenth in the Usborne Very First Reading series and is intended for a child to be able to read with minimal parent assistance. It would be best for children age 6-8 with some basic reading skills already. The book includes guidance notes for parents and clever puzzles that children have to use their new reading skills to solve.
