I picked this book because I really enjoyed Rainbow Fish when I was younger so I wanted to read one of the sequels to Rainbow Fish. I had mixed feelings about this book because I was a little unsure on how they could make another book about Rainbow Fish but I really enjoyed reading it. I thought the illustrations were fantastic. I also really enjoyed the writing in this book. I really felt like I was watching the entire plot unfold. The plot was also extremely good because you weren't sure if the little stripped fish was going to get away from the shark. I really wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next. I think the big idea of this book is friendship. In the beginning, Rainbow Fish's friends didn't let the little stripped fish play with them because he didn't have a special scale like they did. Rainbow Fish didn't agree with his friends but he didn't want to lose his friends so he agreed with them. Then at the end of the book, Rainbow Fish realizes that it wasn't nice to not let the little stripped fish play and goes to save him from the shark.
