The TARDIS is lost in battle on a distant planet. When the Doctor sets off in pursuit, Donna is left behind, and finds herself accepting a commission in the Pioneer Corps.
Something is transforming soldiers into monstrous beetles, and she could be the next victim.
Meanwhile, the Doctor steals a motorbike and stages a jailbreak.
Well, how hard can it be to find the TARDIS, rescue Donna, and negotiate a peace?
But that's before the arrival of a brutal and remorseless mechanical exterminator, bent on wiping out the insects.
It may be that nothing can stop it, because this robot's solution for the infestation is very simple: kill everything.

Not one of the best Doctor Who books, but it is still a lot of fun! Hilarious to listen to David Tennant not only continue with the voice of the Doctor, but to do the voice of companion Donna as well.... which, he does a fantastic job at. Felt like it was too short, but maybe I was just too hungry for the Doctors.....book. :) Worth buying.

The Doctor and Donna land on a planet being colonized by the Second Great and Bountiful Human Empire. It's the middle of a war. But who is the real enemy?Overall I found this a predictable and not terribly exciting story. It's always fun to listen to David Tennant read, though.
