Understanding Cognition provides a lively, accessible and thorough introduction to this exciting and rapidly developing brannch of psychology.

It is intended primarily for first year undergraduates, and for pre-degree students who seek a deeper appreciation of contemporary cognitive psychology.

The book is divided into three sections, which cover: the major structures, processing systems and mental operations involved in memory, perception, attention, skills and language; cognition in action; and approaches to modelling cognition, including cognitive neuropsychology and connectionist approaches.
