This was a great book! It was full of poems in many different formats. It introduces poetry in many different ways so readers can see what they are most comfortable with. This book would be great to use with students to show them that writing really can be for anyone.

This is a book for all those who think poetry has to be complicated. the story follows Jake as he examines and writes simple poetry with his teacher. At the same time we uncover the story of Jake's dog's. I love the way this book ignores our modern perceptions of poetry and brings it back to its roots, conveying human emotion.
