Georgie’s mother went to Blainford, a prestigious riding school in America, and became a top event rider and Georgie wants to follow in her footsteps. However she has to win a place first and the competition is tough. Despite a couple of set backs she manages to achieve her dream but that is when the hard work starts and to make matters worse she doesn’t have her beloved pony, Tyro, with her as her father couldn’t afford to ship him over. Instead she has to ride Belladonna – the daughter of the horse her mother was riding when she was killed. This is the first book in a brand new Stacy Gregg series – Pony Club Rivals but it is aimed at a slightly older audience. Teens who grew up reading Pony Club Secrets will be delighted to discover this new series – full of horsey action but with added love interest.

Stereotypical characterization but the plot is interesting, I do like reading about their various activities with the horses and I love the boarding school setting.
