The Brazen Bride Paperback
Part of the Black Cobra Quartet series
Lewis Monteith's mission got off to a shaky start. Wounded in battle, he jumped from his ship rather than risk losing evidence that would bring down a traitor.
But as he recuperates in a tiny village, his luck takes a roundabout turn as his fascination with his rescuer, the beautiful Linnet Trevission, grows. Linnet's strength and wisdom have made her a respected leader at home.
That's why she knows she'll be invaluable to Lewis - if only he'll let her in.
Linnet has no doubt that Lewis is the man for her. Her only battle now is in convincing him that the connection they feel is real and everlasting and that her offer of help can save him - before it's too late.

Review by MelissaRogerson
I was looking forward to this but I found it disappointing. Hoping that Laurens pulls her finger out for the last book in this series, as I did enjoy the first. This is definitely the weakest so far, and I nearly stopped reading it part way through as I found some of her storytelling devices to be cheap and lazy. In particular, she gives the Bad Guys an EVIL perversion that we are repeatedly told about, although it has no bearing on the story or even on the behaviours or motivations. It seemed like a lazy use of stereotypes to make us believe that they were EVIL but instead it had me rolling my eyes.Really hoping for better from book 4.
