Time Between Us Paperback
Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet. Why would they? Anna is sixteen in 1995, fiercely determined to leave her quiet town and finally travel the world.
Bennett's seventeen in 2012, living in San Francisco and trying to control his ability to travel through time - an incredible gift, but also an unpredictable curse, which constantly threatens to separate him from the people he loves.
When Bennett suddenly finds himself in Anna's world, they are inescapably drawn to one another - it's almost as if they have met before.
But they both know, deep down, that it can never last.
For no matter how desperate Bennett is to stay with Anna, his condition will inevitably knock him right back to where he belongs - and Anna will be left to pick up the pieces.

Honestly I think if the story had ended about a chapter earlier I would have been happier with it. Anna is in Chicago in 1995,sixteen, who loves running, works in her father's bookshop and determined that some day she will travel the world.Bennett is seventeen, living in San Francisco in 2012 and he can time travel. They meet by accident and they're attracted, but he should be in 2012 and she should be in 1995 and they should live their lives. The romance is well done, but felt a bit shallow. I didn't feel like they would be a long-term solid relationship and maybe they should have enjoyed the time together and then parted. It took me a while to get into and while a lot of it was well-written, I just didn't get into the characters and didn't like how it ended. Entertaining but a bit meh.

Chicago, 1995: There is a new boy at school. Anna is intrigued and attracted by Bennett, and he seems to be quite drawn to her. A series of bizarre coincidences bring them together. Why does he have such long, shaggy hair, though? And sometimes his behaviour is a bit strange. As they get to know each other, Bennett reveals his secret – time travel. He is a teenager in 2011, and was just a baby in 1995. Bennett never planned to stay permanently in Anna’s era. He has come back for a reason, and when he has done what he set out to, he means to return to his own time, so the developing romance between them poses a difficult dilemma.I am fascinated by time travel and I also enjoy school stories of all kinds and historical novels set in the quite recent past. This young adult romance is cleverly imagined and I really enjoyed reading it. The book is American and as I was a teenager in the 1980s, her time doesn’t really seem historical, just a bit different. Occasionally I would notice something and think about how things have changed between 1995 and 2012. I would be interested to see what a present day 16 year old would make of story featuring teenage life with no mobile phones, music on CDs and Walkmans and far fewer computers and internet access.Recommended for teenage girls past and present.
