The film follows disturbed aristocrat Lord Alan Cunningham (Anthony Steffen) as he struggles to come to terms with the sudden death of his wife Evelyn.
Now spending his time scouring local bars for woman who resemble Evelyn so he can take them back to his mansion to torture and kill them, his cousin Farley (Umberto Raho) suggests he remarry in an attempt to move on.
Taking Farley's advice, Alan moves to London and quickly marries Gladys (Marina Malfatti).
However, when a number of his relatives start meeting untimely and gruesome deaths, Alan begins to suspect that his vengeful ex-wife Evelyn may have come back from the grave and is responsible.
