Description

Double bill of Polish war dramas. Set during the Second World War, 'Warsaw 1944' (2014) follows young soldier Stefan (Józef Pawlowski) as he joins the Warsaw Uprising to take back the city from its Nazi occupiers.

Defying the wishes of his family, Stefan courageously joins his friends in taking up arms while they wait for Russia's Red Army to support them in their attack.

But instead of heroically taking back Warsaw, the Polish resistance fighters find themselves doomed to fail as they are crushed by the might of the German forces. 'The Battle for Warsaw' (2014) sees Rudy, Zoska and Alek (Tomasz Zietek, Marcel Sabat and Kamil Szeptycki) who are members of the Gray Ranks, an underground Polish movement intent on bringing justice to the German occupiers of Warsaw, join forces to free their colleagues from their Nazi captors.

While Rudy continues to be tortured for information he cannot or will not provide, Zoska and Alek pool resources to help their friend escape certain death.
