This book is great for young children. It allows them to use their imagination and lets them learn to say NO! It teaches older children persuasiveness. It teaches elementary children about peer pressure. It teaches children that they will not always what they want.

This is such a fun book. The illustrations really make the story. The facial expressions and body language of the pigeon are very convincing. I wanted to let him drive the bus.Curricular Connections:This book is a must for story time. I would also use it as an example of persuasive writing with my students.

In this very funny book, a bus driver tells the reader to watch the bus for him while he is gone and to remember not to let the pigeon drive the bus! The pigeon spends the rest of the book trying to convince the reader to let the pigeon drive the bus with lots of humorous arguments about why he should get to drive. Children will relate to these arguments. The illustrations are very simple drawings agains a beige background. A great read-a-loud book for preschoolers aged 3-5.
