Description

Percy Jackson, the young demi-god, is back for his second exciting adventure in the bestselling series by Rick Riordan. You can't tell by looking at me that my dad is Poseidon, God of the Sea. It's not easy being a half-blood these days. You mortals can't even see the monsters we have to fight all the time. So when a game of dodgeball turned into a death match against an ugly gang of cannibal giants, I couldn't exactly ask my gym teacher for help. And that was just for starters. This is the one where Camp Half Blood is under attack, and unless I get my hands on the Golden Fleece, the whole camp will be invaded by monsters. Big ones. Can Percy survive the treacherous Sea of Monsters and restore order to Half-Blood Hill?

  • A great second installment. This is a really fun and engaging series. The tree protecting Camp Half Blood has been poisoned and the only way to save it is to find the Golden Fleece. Despite not being picked to go on the quest (Clarissa of all people is choosen), Annabeth and Percy set out to find the Fleece and help Grover in the process. We meet more Gods and monster and find out more of Luke's plot against the Olympians and travel to the Bermuda Triangle (or the Sea of Monsters). This is a fun, fun series.

  • “The Sea of Monsters” is the second of five in the Olympian series, written by Rick Riordan. This is another well written story of an adventure that a young teen embarks on. All though this young teen, Percy Jackson is not just any teen, he is a half blood. A half blood is what the Greek Gods named there off spring that are half human and half god. He has also inherited powers from his father Poseidon, powers related to water or the sea. The half blood summer camp is cancelled and is in trouble. Percy’s best friend and protector Grover is also in trouble. So Percy, along with his half blood friend Annabel, and half brother cyclops, Tyson venture out to save not just Grover but the half blood camp as well. This page turning, action packed adventure, fast paced story will keep any reader on the edge of their seat right to the end. The characters are well developed and easy for any young teen to relate to. There are serious scene, frightening scenes, fighting scenes, as well as comical scenes, enough to keep the audience thoroughly entertained. The recommended age for this story is ages 9 to 12, although older teens would also enjoy this story just as much.

  • This second book in the Percy Jackson series was even better than the first: humorous, fun, suspenseful, and engaging with wonderful characters. This is young adult fantasy at its best--my only complaint? It could've been longer....

  • Book 2 in the Percy Jackson series was just as good (well, ok, almost as good...I would give it a 4.5 if I could) as the first book. This installment involves a quest to the Sea of Monsters (aka the Bermuda Triangle), a Cyclops brother, a Civil War ship...it's glorious. I will read it again and again.
