"Sapphire Battersea" is a sequel to the prize-winning (Quills Award) "Hetty Feather", a story about a fierce feisty Victorian foundling. In this new story, 14-year-old Hetty leaves the Foundling Hospital, discovers she is utterly unsuited for life as a servant, acquires a new sweetheart, communes with spirits at a seance, and ends up starring in Mr Clarendon's Seaside Curiosity Show. At the end of the book, her life takes an extraordinary new direction - we will learn more later in a third "Hetty Feather" book, completing the trilogy.
