Description

Two helicopters disrupt the peace of Dr Gabe Singleton's remote Wyoming ranch. From one of them strides the President of the United States with startling news - and a stunning request which will turn Gabe's quiet life upside down. President Stoddard's personal physician has suddenly and mysteriously disappeared, and he needs Gabe to take the man's place. Reluctantly, Gabe agrees - but soon he discovers that critical details concerning the President's health have been kept from him. Suspecting that the President's worsening condition may not be due to natural causes, Gabe sets out to uncover who is behind his mysterious illness. But the more questions he asks, the more Gabe seems to be putting himself in danger.

  • When Gabe Singleton's old friend calls on him one day what other choice does he have but to follow his old friend to Washington and become his personal doctor. It becomes a little more complicated since his old friend is the President of the United States. Gabe, who in the past has been in prison and who is a recovering alcoholic with a divorce in his past and a current addiction to pills, does just that and heads to Washington to replace Andrew's current doctor who has turned up missing. Then things begin to get interesting. The President hasn't told him everything that is going on and then things get really crazy.Wow - this book was really a wild ride. I loved the twists and turns and this is one of those books where the action never really stops and just when you think you might know who is behind it all - you might be really surprised. I know I was. With a little romance and a few other storylines, this book kept me hooked to the very last page. Another great work by Michael Palmer

  • WOW! This was a great page turner. I couldn't wait to gt home to it every night. The premis is initriguing, and even though I guessed who the bad guy had to be from the beginning, there was still the possibility that I was wrong. I enjoyed this book, and will recommend it to others.

  • MUchael Palmer continues to be my favorite writer of medical thrillers. This has an interesting premise but the plot is too implausible to be real. He should probably stay away from the natioanl government as a backdrop. I am not certain it is his comfort zone. A fun read, but not one of his best.

  • Great premise, not so great book. Personal physician to the President has to figure out why/how the president is being driven insane. Lots of political enemies and theories, but by the end I just didn't care.
