Like the other reviewers have said, quite a maddening book. Some nuggets there but a lot that just makes you feel guilty for not getting it right. Never mind, my son never did anything to a timetable and he's perfectly happy and healthy.
"A word of warning. Do not be tempted to purchase the microwave version of these sterilizers... It becomes a complete nuisance when you have to keep removing it to use the microwave for cooking." Well, if you find a small inconvenience like that a nuisance, then you'll surely be completely freaked out by the nuisance of following instructions like "10.45 a.m. Express 60 ml (2 oz) from the second breast". For a new parent, it's hard to know which parts of this method are actually practical, and rules like "never pick the baby up when he is crying" seem like guilt-trips waiting to happen. A writer in "Green Parent" magazine comments: "I find it helpful to read Gina Ford and then do the opposite"! MB 4-vii-2007
I am only admitting to owning this book so that it is in my library if a client needs a copy! Not my way of baby caring.
