Description

Meet Rebecca Bloomwood. She has a great flat, a fabulous wardrobe full of the season's must-haves, and a job telling other people how to manage their money. She spends her leisure time ...shopping. Retail therapy is the answer to all her problems. She knows she should stop, but she can't. She tries Cutting Back, she tries Making More Money. But neither seems to work. The letters from the bank are getting harder to ignore. Can Becky ever escape from this dreamworld, find true love, and regain the use of her credit card? "The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic"...this is the perfect pick-me-up for when it's all hanging in the (bank) balance.

  • I enjoyed this book. Yes.. you can easily figure out how the book will end, but the senseless and quirky behaviors of Rebecca Bloomwood couldn't help but make me laugh. Sometimes it's good for the soul to read "easy reads." :)

  • Feel like I ought to be standing on a chair proudly declaring my love for Becky Bloomwood, the only character that makes me think it's OK to shop. The book should come with a warning excessive shopping will follow reading any of the Shopaholic series.

  • Absolutely hysterical! I'm not a shopaholic in any sense of the word--At least, not a shopaholic who charges for Prada. Give me a Goodwill store and some neat items and romance books however, and I'm truly a dangerous checkbook. I love the twists and turns in this novel, and the heroine stole my heart the second she claimed to know Finnish (oopsie! Spoiler? Naaah). Love the catty gossip, and I love the little friendly 'notes' from the bank and her myriads of excuses as to why she is overdrawn. A fabulous book for those of us who simply *can't* walk into a shop without buying a little *something*...

  • Thr first book in the Shopaholic series, Confessions of a Shopaholic is one of my favorite books! Throughout this book we follow Becky Bloomwood who is obsessed with shopping and drowning in debt. She just can't help herself when she sees a sale sign. You will laugh laugh out loud at all of the crazy things Becky thinks of to help solve her situation. But when she falls for a high powered executive, her secret could get out and ruin more than just her credit score. Overall a great, fun read that I recommend to anyone who likes chick-lit and shopping!
