The programme journeys to remote locations in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Madagascar and Japan where climactic conditions have contrived to produce unusual species. Though the creatures in question may have a strange or mutant-like appearance, they are in fact perfectly adapted to the unconventional environment in which they live.
