Anna Friel and Daniel Mays star in this hard-hitting three-part drama. When probation officer Paula Radnor (Friel) goes back to work following suspension after making an error on her last case, she is assigned to new ward, Eddie Mottram (Mays), who was convicted for murdering his teenage girlfriend ten years previously. He is released on probation but struggles to adjust to his new life and, although Paula does her best to help him, he proves to be a difficult character to handle.
