Tracy Beaker is back! She's started a new school and is living with her foster mum, Cam. Things ought to be looking up for her - but they're not. Tracy's teacher Mrs Vomit Bagley is horrible, and when Tracy writes about her real mum (who can't look after her because she's too busy in Hollywood) the other kids laugh because they know it isn't true. Tracy's new friends, Alexander and Football, have their own share of problems. When they begin to play the dangerous and dastardly Dare Game together, it has Big Consequences for them all. Meanwhile things with Cam aren't working out as expected. Tracy wants to live in luxury, not in a tiny box room. She wants designer clothers, not jumble shop offcasts.
