    Joanna Trollope and the Soldiers' Wives

    Joanne Trollope met the Military WAGS Choir of Catterick Garrison when she came to Richmond to talk about her new book The Soldier's Wife. Speaking to a packed hall in Richmond School, she praised the fortitude of those who are left behind when their partners go off to Afganistan. There were plenty of questions on a sensitive topic close to the hearts of many of those present. Some felt that Joanna had painted a true picture of the difficulties of army life, whilst others felt there were plenty of positives as well. Joanna pointed out that authors want their readers to turn the pages, and problems that needed resolution proved more interesting reading!
