Friend Request is Laura Marshall's first novel. It was shortlisted for the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize 2016, and was runner-up in the Bath Novel Award 2016. Laura lives with her family in Kent.
Louise Greig is a poet based in Aberdeen. She won the inaugural children’s poetry prize organised by The Caterpillar (2015) and has been joint winner of the Manchester Writing for Children Prize. She was also a runner-up in the Chicken House Publishing ‘Big Idea’ competition in 2014. When she’s not writing poetry or stories for children, she is the director of a dogs home. This year Louise also published the children's book The Island and the Bear.
Reece Wykes studied illustration and animation at Kingston University, and his work uses the subtlest of differences to say a huge amount about character. His picture book I Dare You has been highly commended by the MacMillan Children's Book Prize and he was joint winner of the Worldwide Illustration Prize, UK category. He lives and works in London.
Sally Rooney was born in 1991 and lives in Dublin, where she graduated from an MA at Trinity College in 2013. Her work has appeared in Granta, The White Review, The Dublin Review, The Stinging Fly, Kevin Barry's Stonecutter and The Winter Pages anthology. In 2017 she was shortlisted for the Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award for 'Mr Salary'. Conversations with Friends is her first novel.
