Review by

This is the graphic novel that Jessica Jones TV show on Netflix is based off of. First off - its good. Really Really good. Firstly, I'm not a big fan of super hero comics. I don't know why - but maybe it just seems so.... impossible. But - with this volume - Jessica isn't really a super hero. Yes, she has powers, but they don't make her what she is - Her character is more human. As for the story itself - its dark. Very very dark. I could only read this a few chapters at a time. You need time to take in what is happening, and it can be overwhelming if you read all at once. The artistry is well done - it has a gritty feel to it, in keeping with the detective noir atmosphere it has going for it. This book isn't for everyone. It is dark, graphic, and has explicit images in it. Its not a traditional super hero graphic novel.
