Now she finally knows the truth - but she's left with more questions than answers.

She doesn't have a clue what her heritage means or how to harness her newfound powers.

All she knows is that she needs to sort out her feelings for Derek, the sexy half-Fae who just confessed his love, and Lucas, her werewolf boyfriend who seems more committed to his pack than to their relationship.

All the while, Kylie's dealing with a group of underground rogues who want her dead and a mysterious grandfather who makes it clear he doesn't trust the FRU...or Shadow Falls.

Soon Kylie will have to choose: Will she stay with the new family she's formed at Shadow Falls, or will she leave with her grandfather and embrace her destiny?

Holy crud!! I thought the action and suspense was high in the last 2 books of the series WHISPERS AT MOONRISE is equal if not more filled with everything we love from the Shadow Falls series. Some of my thoughts on the different things in WHISPERS AT MOONRISE. Lucas is a douche. Seriously how selfish and stupid can you be? I have always liked Derek, and he continues to be likable. The Moms new boyfriend really creeps me out and I'm willing to bet he is not on the up and up. Holiday and Burnett yay you guys really should have worked through all that books ago. Della and Miranda continue to be highly entertaining. The FRU continues to weezle their way in to Kylie's life in slimy ways. Loved the Grandfather and Aunt, we are FINALLY getting answers to what Kylie is. The ending? I need to know what happens next right now!! Wow must you punish us faithful readers with an ending like that?!?!WHISPERS AT MOONRISE brings us lots of answers, plenty of drama and great development throughout the entire book. The only bad thing? The final book in the series CHOSEN AT NIGHTFALL wont be out until April 2013.

I am probably not going to be loved for this review but here it goes. I have really enjoyed this series from the start and I still pre-order the books in this series and they are moved very rapidly to the top of my TBR pile. The first book had me hooked with its interesting premise and laugh out loud hysterical scenes. The book previous to this one seemed to have lost some of the sparkle of the first books. And "Whisper at Moonrise" continues that downward trend. For books now we have been teased about Kylie's powers. Most of us probably could guess right away that Kylie was special and had powers of all the paranormal creatures. Now her gift is given a name. Kylie is a chameleon. She freaks out thinking she is a lizard. Really? I mean really? And no one in the entire place has the sense to say "Hey Kylie. Chill out sister. You are not a lizard. You have all the powers...you are a chameleon. Your powers change to fit your surroundings...or needs." Only at the end of this book do they figure out this mind puzzle. Sigh. The bad guy from the previous books make no appearance here at all although we still don't know what happened to him. We are once again bounced back in forth in the love triangle between Lucas and Derek...both guys who more or less cheated on her and kept things from her. Real winners to choose from, Kylie. Kylie's roommates are still bickering. All the fuzzy dreamlike sequences are becoming repetitive. Now for the positives and there are quite a few. I love Della and Miranda. I just wish they would stop it with the silly bickering. I love Perry for Miranda and it was nice to see them together. I loved the ghost story line and I loved seeing Derek help her solve it. Lucas's reasons for ignoring Kylie just aren't good enough. I think it sets a bad image to see Kylie taking it when Lucas treats her the way he does. There were still more than one laugh out loud moments in "Whispers at Moonrise". The book still is a quick read and its still entertaining. This author is a darn good storyteller and I know she has many more original new stories to tell us. Its just that I believe this particular series needs to end. I am relieved that the next book is the last. Some series go on so long that readers tire of them long before their stories wrap up. Its great that this isn't going to be like that. I look forward to seeing Kylie get a happily ever after.

Kylie now has a name for what she is, but is still trying to figure out what it means. Meanwhile, she uses her abilities to help catch a serial killer that may be hiding out at Shadow Falls.

I absolutely love this series. I am going to hate to see the day it ends. With each twist and turn that Kylie goes thru, she learns more and more about what she is and what she is capable of. Being torn with loving Lucas, and Derek being in love with her is just one of the issues she is having to deal with. But when a ghost that looks just like Holiday comes around, her fears of her friend being murdered are too much for her to handle alone. She is still in search of the answers to all of her talents and how to deal with them. Family makes an appearance and tries to pull her to them but will she be able to follow without hurting the ones she loves the most? Miranda and Della are definitely at it as always pulling you into their laughter. This story will make you laugh at all the antics the two of them get into and at times you will find yourself fighting the tears. It’s hard not to feel the emotions Kylie is feeling as she deals with all the problems that are hitting her.Ms. Hunter has a way with making you feel as if you are a part of her story. Not only can you visualize what is happening around the characters, but you can as well feel their happiness and their pain. This is one of my favorite series that I have to make sure I keep up with.

Kylie Galen discovers more about herself and about what it means to be a chameleon, while also managing not to lose her temper at the people who seem determined to be paternalistic and also condescending and failing to give her any real inforamation, for which I commend her! She seems to be able to be any species, showing traits of all when she needs to and her grandfather wants her to come and learn more about being what she is. She's also dealing with her romantic life, Lucas seems to be embracing more and more his werewolf side and they seem to be at odds with their relationship. She's not quite as attracted to Derek but he seems more accepting of who she is and what she can do.Then she starts getting visits from a ghost who looks like Holiday, but Holiday isn't dead and her visions are very intense. All change in this story leading up to the end of the series, interesting series, interesting take on the genre.
