Review by sweetie_candykim
This is a fantastic book. I got it out of the library and had to buy it and I don't normally do that.It contains a list of books that teenagers can pick from if they want too. It isn't a '100 books to read before you die'. The books are mainly written in alphabetical order, with some genre specials like Detective Stories and Graphic Novels over a two pages spred. Each book has a review by either a teenager or an author or sometimes both and then a 'what's next box'. They are also rated age 12+, 14+ or 16+. The special pages are written like an article and contain many recommendations. The main reason this book it so brilliant is the varition of recommendations. Even though it is a teen reference books, many of the books are adult books and they are not all 'Angus, Thong and Full Frontal Snogging' teen chick-lit. There are some serious books, but also some lighthearted suggestions like 'Are you David Gorman?'.This book has inspired me to pick up many book I wouldn't normally like 'Perfume' and has classics like 'Northanger Abbey'. Many of the books I have bought recently are in there too like 'The Number One Ladies Detective Agency' which proves that this is not a childish book for teens.
