I agree that some of the items in the book are "no-brainers," and a few sounded to me like less than true kindness (give someone your old, ratty item you don't want anymore...).

But some were fun ideas, and I enjoyed the very British slant. I got a kick out of the suggestion to give your bus driver a pot plant. I think that would get you arrested here! (In my neck of the woods, we say "potted plant"; pot is marijuana!) And there were some I didn't understand at all: "Play knock down ginger, but leave a little gift.." Not sure what knock down ginger is!

I'm a big fan of Danny Wallace so this is a nice addition to my Wallace library! His books seem to be harder to come by on this side of the Atlantic so the collection is growing very slowly!

I only gave this a 3 as some of the Random Acts are a bit iffy to me, but it is a brilliant book filled with ideas of how to make people smile, how to brighten someone's day and generally making the world a better place. This was the first Danny Wallace book I read, and then I moved on to Join Me. I've done some random acts of kindness myself and it has made me feel happier and better in myself, it has made me appreciate others more and not to be so focused on myself as we all can be during those busy days! Lovely ideas and some funny comments and stories of other peoples' kindness. Brilliant book for when you're despairing with the world - I strongly suggest that one night, instead of watching the news, read this book and enjoy, then take part in the Karma Army's Random Acts of Kindness.
