This is an excellent resource for parents who are trying to understand what dyslexia is and how to intervene on behalf of their child. The language is very accessible and the chapters covering psycho-educational assessments, teaching methods and supporting a dyslexic child have been immensely valuable to me. In particular, I appreciate that this book covers agencies and resources that are available in my province. I often use this as a reference as I prepare for discussions with teachers, physicians and psychologists. I'm fortunate that my child has been identified reasonably early (grade 2) and that we are able to work with a supportive team. I unreservedly recommend this book if you suspect your child has dyslexia or if you are navigating your way through the system.
