Description

First Published in 1999. The purpose of this book is to raise awareness among teachers and parents about the factors which influence under-achievement in able children in the primary years.

In the past there has been a dearth of research focused on able children of this age, especially in the UK.

In order to fill this perceived deficit, this book is based on a research project which incorporated interviews and observation in context, as well as traditional testing procedures.

In this study, therefore, the views of parents, teachers and children were considered and all were given voice to provide a holistic picture of the situation.
