Complementing his bestselling The Most Beautiful Villages of England, Hugh Palmer has now produced a stunning sequence of images of 25 of the most beguiling small towns of rural and seaside England.
From the forbidding mien of Barnard Castle in the north to the honey-coloured streets of the Cotswolds, from the elegant Georgiana of Buxton to the magnificent abbey at Bury St Edmunds, the whole of England is represented in a series of delightful photographs and perceptive texts.

The photographs in this volume leave you wanting much more than is offered. Only a very few towns were included. The criteria for inclusion were not included in the accompanying narrative, and the individual sketches often left one no idea why that town was included and others excluded. It's a nice coffee table type book, but if you are wanting better descriptions, you are better off consulting travel guides.
