Pride and Prejudice Hardback
by Jane Austen
Part of the Fine Edition series
For many readers 'Pride and Prejudice' is the perfect comic novel, for others it is a sharp critique of social and personal prejudices, and for almost everyone it makes the perfectly formed romance: no other English novel is as popular, and a World Book Day survey voted it readers' most precious book of all.
This beautiful clothbound edition is part of a series of readers' best-loved classics published in fine volumes, and produced to the highest standards for under GBP20: making an affordable luxury.
Instead of a dust jacket, the decorated cloth covers have a printed illustration wrapping around the book.
The cover illustration has been specially commissioned from a leading illustrator.
This edition of Pride and Prejudice also has coloured page tops, decorated endpapers, meticulous line-by-line typesetting and thick acid-free paper are among the elements that differ from standard hardbacks, so these editions embody the virtues of a good book.
The result is quality of design and production that adds to the pleasure of reading and makes each book a desirable object in itself. For anyone interested in a fine edition of a favourite work, this is an attractive volume for the bookshelf or an authentic and distinctive present.

Review by mbmackay
It is so good to go back and read this book after so many years. I think I missed the humour, the pointed jabs, and the sheer exuberance of the writing when I last read this book, as a teenager. But now, I can see that it is just a standout - Austen really IS a legend, and her heroine is almost as pugnacious as Lisbeth Salander! (Read as an e-book May 2010)
