Description

Paulo Carignani conducts the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra in this production of Verdi's opera, recorded live at the Amsterdam Music Theatre in September, 2010. Originally set during Sicily's 13th century uprising against French rule, Christof Loy's staging transposes the action to the dark days of the 1940s.

Performers include Barbara Haveman, Livia Aghova, Burkhard Fritz and Alejandro Marco-Buhrmester.
