Review by

I loved the earlier books in this series. This one, not as much. The setting, on Northumberland's rugged coastline is excellent. The plot has more holes than a sieve.Worst by far is the newly widowed prison psychologist Emily McCann. Her license should be revoked and she should consider a new occupation. Although I must say she is as useless in her personal life as she is in her professional. But for me her so annoying stupidity is balanced out by my favorite characters, DCI Kate Daniels and her on again/off again professional and personal partner profiler Jo Soulsby. Finally, please tell me the British prison system is not so bad that they would just open the gate and let Walter Fearon out! EEEK!
