Review by

This books follows the original comics story pretty faithfully for Steve being defrosted. He then requests his return to the past and is rejected. Crazy random happenstance sends him there but he realizes he it needed in the future and goes back. I had vague issues with the start of this book. It was pretty faithful to the original comic but the problem is that original comic was written a long time ago and the plot was, frankly, absurd. Beyond the thawing out Steve Rogers part to the wacky teenage sidekick, the nobody noticing the Avengers all being turned to stone, the Captain America randomly running around the place for a while. The books updates the art well and does some really nice cut shots of Steve literally seeing the time he came from then what's really there, but it might have benefited from updating the story which was fine for the old camp comics but doesn't seem to fit here. The second half of the book was much more fun and had better pacing. Read for that.
