After the initial first few chapters, I found this to be a slow story. So much so that I even put it down for awhile and read something else. Once Nikki had had the baby it got much better. At that point I found it hard to put the book down, wanting to know what would happen next and often finding myself in floods of tears. However, there came a point towards the end where the ending, albeit not totally predictable, was at the very least an anti-climax. Had Lewis been able to keep up the tension and emotion that she created in the middle of the story, then the book would have been far better.
