The Railway Children, DVD DVD

DVD

Description

All seven episodes from the 1960s BBC adaptation of E.

Nesbit's much-loved tale. Following their father's arrest on spying charges, the previously well-to-do Faraday children go to live in reduced circumstances in a remote country cottage with their ailing mother (Ann Castle).

The three children - Roberta (Jenny Agutter), Peter (Neil McDermott), and Phyllis (Gillian Bailey) - soon make friends with the staff at the nearby train station, and become involved in a series of exciting adventures along the railway line.

Amongst other things, they come to the aid of a Russian refugee, narrowly avert a train crash, and befriend a kindly old passenger.

The episodes are: 'The Visitors', 'The Coalminers', 'The Message', 'The Foreign Gentleman', 'The Secret', 'The Rescue' and 'The Meeting'.
