The Mascaron Drive Ichigo and all his friends are training like mad, spurred on by the looming threat of Aizen's wicked plans.
But while Uryu and Chad increase their powers, Orihime finds out that she has to sit out the coming fight, leaving her friends without her protection. And Ichigo, despite his intensive training with the Visoreds, can't control his Hollowfied self long enough to battle.
With the war against the Arrancar ramping up, can the team afford to have two fighters on the sidelines?

I really recommend this series. A teenage boy helps direct souls in the afterlife to soul society where they can live peacefully. Only Hollows (corrupted souls) get in the way and even harm innocent souls. Ichigo relies on friends and family to fight for what is right.

I just found out a while ago that the character on the cover (I can't keep track of all these Japenesese names) is actually a boy! I don't get why manga writers draw their characters like that. It's weird...

The beginning of this book is about the character developments. Orihime's sense of inadequacy hits a high while Ichigo seems stronger and more relaxed. Chad and Uryuu have made progress too. There's plenty of comedy as well, which works well before the second half of the book which is full of more battles when the Arrancar arrive. Even with all the power the Soul Reapers have acquired, the battles against the Espada are tough. Then when it seems all is lost the Espada leave, so we'll never know if our heroes would have lost or not. I'd like to say they do, but things aren't looking so good. On to more, then.
