Bleach, Vol. 3 Paperback

Illustrated by Tite Kubo
Part of the Bleach series
Ichigo 'Strawberry' Kurosaki was born with the ability to see ghosts.
When his family is attacked by a Hallow - a malevolent lost soul - Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits find peace.
Ichigo Kurosaki was a little boy when his mother passed away.
One rainy day, Ichigo, whose ability to see the undead is a blessing with a curse, tried to stop a young girl from drowning in a nearby river.
His mother, Masaki, ran after them, frantically trying to rescue her son.
Then everything went black, and Ichigo awoke only to discover his mother dead and the little girl gone.
It's the anniversary of Masaki's death, and the entire Kurosaki clan, along with former Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki, head to the cemetary to pay their respects.
Sleeping demons rarely ever stay still and pretty soon Ichigo confronts the Grand Fisher, the Hollow that may be resposible for his mother's demise.
This and more in this action-packed volume of Bleach.

A very sad book when Ichigo finds out who really killed his mom,the grand fisher.Ichigo fights him and manages to not only to live, but he also wounded the grand fisher.

I can't see why my friend is so into this book. It's a good series, but not fantastic. But I'm glad I know who all the characters are now.

I like action, but even so, I didn't mind the lack of it in this book, because the events that happened are important to the development of the characters and make them more lovable. We learn why Igicho has his tough guy attitude. Also, some foreshadowing. Who doesn't love a little foreshadowing.
