Reaction: Each illustration of Parr’s picture book is simple and colourful, which is appealing for young and adult readers alike. I personally was drawn to the “blissful” cover, drenched in bright colours, just oozing of happiness and promise. The broad definition of peace including ideas such sharing with one another, making friends, feeling good about oneself and embracing diversity makes the term “peace” more concrete and easy to understand. With this definition, readers realize that peace starts with oneself and that everyone has the ability to make a difference and impact peace even at a small scale.

I love Todd Parr's book about peace. Peace is a difficult thing to define to children and he simplifies it so that kids can relate and begin to understand what peace means. It's a fun way to learn and has adorable illustrations and great definitions of a complex topic. curricular connections; social and life skill lessons.
