While the wealthy Ashby siblings are awaiting the release of their family trust fund, brutish alcoholic Simon (Reed) plots to have his emotionally unstable sister Eleanor (Janette Scott) certified insane after she claims to have seen an apparition of their long-dead brother, Tony (Alexander Davion), wandering around the estate.
Is their brother's reappearance a fragment of Eleanor's wild imagination or has he returned to claim what's rightfully his?
