Jack Ryan: 5-film Collection, Blu-ray BluRay

Blu-ray

Description

Collection of five action thrillers following the character Jack Ryan created by Tom Clancy.

In 'The Hunt for Red October' (1990) Soviet submarine captain Marko Ramius (Sean Connery) decides to break away from the military exercises in which he has been ordered to take part and sets a course straight for the US coastline.

The Americans believe he is mounting a renegade attack, the Russians believe he is trying to defect, and both nations send their navies out in pursuit.

The one man who seems to have a clear grasp on the situation is CIA analyst Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin), but can he make the superpowers see sense before they risk everything in a potential catastrophic naval encounter?

In 'Patriot Games' (1992) CIA agent Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) prevents the assassination of a British Earl, killing one of the terrorist assassins in the process.

However, the terrorist's brother Sean Miller (Sean Bean) vows to get his revenge on Ryan and his family.

In 'Clear and Present Danger' (1994) when his mentor Admiral James Greer (James Earl Jones) becomes gravely ill, Jack Ryan is appointed acting CIA Deputy Director of Intelligence.

His first assignment is to investigate the murder of one of the President's friends, a prominent US businessman with secret ties to Colombian drug cartels.

In 'The Sum of All Fears' (2002) America's security community is on edge when the Russian premier dies and is replaced by President Zorkin (Richard Marner), a man whose international ambitions are something of an unknown quantity.

Fortunately seasoned CIA agent Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck) is on hand to profile the man in the hot seat.

But when America's worst fears come true and Baltimore is struck by a terrorist attack, Ryan's boss Cabot (Morgan Freeman) is convinced this isn't really a Russian strike and dispatches Ryan to uncover the truth before both sides spark WWIII.

Finally, in 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' (2013), following on from his career in the military, Jack Ryan (Chris Pine) now works as an analyst for the CIA's Financial Intelligence Unit under the guidance of William Harper (Kevin Costner).

Believing he has stumbled upon a plot by Russian billionaire Viktor Cherevin (Kenneth Branagh) to crash the United States economy, it isn't long before Jack is forced to go undercover and infiltrate Viktor's network.

But with his wife Cathy (Keira Knightley) curious about the true nature of his work, Jack is under pressure to protect not only his country but his personal relationship as well...
