Description

Charming crook Paris Pitman (Douglas) is serving time for robbery in Arizona Territorial Prison, unable to get at the $500,000 he has stashed on the outside; but he does have a cunning plan for his escape.

Newly appointed Warden Lopeman (Fonda) has a plan of his own however - he wants to use Pitman to rally and unify the other prisoners in the name of reform.

Unfortunately for the two men, neither plan goes quite as intended.
