Documentary detailing the life and career of American singer-songwriter Janis Joplin.

Until her death in 1970 at the age of 27, Janis had rose to fame as the lead singer of psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company and later performed with backing groups The Kozmic Blues Band and The Full Tilt Boogie Band.

The film includes live performance footage of songs including 'Ball and Chain' and 'Piece of My Heart' as well as candid interviews with the singer herself.
