This is NOT your "see Jane run" type of book. They are narrative in style. These books do not replace the basic reading book.

They do enrich vocabulary exposure significantly. Vocabularies can grow as they read the books with their older siblings or parents.Older children and even adults will love the stories well enough to read them aloud.Back StoryThis is why I write these stories as I do.

As a child, I learned that the comics in the newspaper had very funny and interesting stories to tell.

My parents read to us starting with the comics. Because they were VERY interesting, I wanted to read everything everyone else could read.

As my parents read the papers, magazines and books of all kinds, I learned that questions could be answered by reading them.

Encyclopedias were the staple of finding answers of all kind of questions.

I learned the alphabet and simple words that everyone else learned in school, but I pushed to read and learn everything my older brother did.

I wanted to read about the interesting pictures in my mother's housekeeping magazines and about the wild animals and stories in National Geographic and the stories in the Reader's Digest.

I KNEW there were so many interesting stories to read.

Any word I did not know I knew someone knew about it.

I quickly learned to look it up in the dictionary too.Exposure to advanced words, ideas and scientific principles enrich a child's environment.

This was my incentive to want to read and learn more.

The stories in this book are written with my own experiences in mind.
