Description

The story "A Tripping Tongue" is a dialogue between Natalya Mihalovna, a young married lady who just returned from Yalta, and her husband.

She talks about her experience in Yalta, including the prices, the mountains, and the immoral behavior of some aristocratic ladies.

She also mentions the Tatar guides, but her husband becomes suspicious because she previously said that she only saw them from a distance.

Natalya gets offended and accuses her husband of being jealous of Suleiman, her guide.

The story ends with the couple arguing about whether or not it was necessary to have a guide in the mountains.

Read in English, unabridged.
