Description

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility.

I was surprised, and I presume that many of my relatives will be surprised, at the number of lines in our ancestryr running back to kings - seven on the Robertson side and six on the Small side.

The last few pages of the work will show this in a condensed form, and through the body of the work can be found references to the authorities I have examined, and anyone who will take the trouble to consult these authorities can find the proof of every statement I have made.

I would like to have given more biographical sketches of the relatives in this country.

I have asked for them but, through modesty, I presume, they have not been sent.

I have, however, included as many biographical sketches as I could get.

It would be a pleasure to me to believe that some member of each family, with this collection of records as a basis, would care fully record and preserve the records of their family to be handed down and kept up through succeeding generations, so that the knowledge of their ancestry may not be lost.
